Welcome to Passionate Penny Pincher!  I’m so excited to make the move from Publix Penny Pincher, and hope you’ll find this site easier to navigate, and full of loads of deals at many of your favorite stores.   My hope is that you’ll stop by Passionate Penny Pincher for even more fabulous Publix deals, and stick around for top deals, menu ideas, and money saving tips that will help your family live well and give well.

I’m thrilled to finally have a home for the coupon database, an incredible resource any time you’re on the hunt for a specific coupon.  And plans are in the works for even more great additions to the site that should make your coupon clipping and menu planning fit seamlessly together.  (WOOHOO!)

I thought I’d share a little about myself for any new readers, or those of you who are just interested! I’m a stay-at-home mom to three kids, ages 3, 7 and 10, and have been married for almost 14 years.  I’ve been couponing for four years and have been amazed at its impact on our budget and ability to give to others.   Our average weekly grocery budget is $45 to $50, which includes $3 to $5  each week to purchase deals for our local food pantry, church or school.  Before I head out for our weekly grocery trip I check out the top Mission Minded Deals and challenge myself to “play” with those few dollars to grab a few bargains to pass on to someone in need.

I started blogging on a whim in the fall of 2009, after reading tons of amazing money saving sites over the last few years.  In September my father-in-law contracted West Nile Encephalitis, and I spent many sleepless nights reading blogs while my husband was away taking care of his Dad.  The few things that I didn’t see promoted often on many sites was a push for donations of really cheap and free items, as well as menu planning based on weekly sale ads.  So, Publix Penny Pincher (now Passionate Penny Pincher) was born!

What excites me most about this site is that one half of any proceeds from this site go directly towards mission work.  Currently we are helping support the Tatum Family, missionaries from our church who are in the process of opening an orphanage in Costa Rica.  So, any time you print coupons from Coupons.com, Red Plum, or Cool Savings on Passionate Penny Pincher, you’re also supporting the work of missionaries in other countries.

Okay, real quickly, here’s a little about me.  I LOVE chocolate, I hate grouchy people, my kids drive me crazy (but are so stinkin’ cute), and I’m married to a fabulous guy who puts up with me and makes me laugh.  Coupons make me happy, I talk way too much, and sitting on the front porch with a brand new issue of Southern Living is my idea of a vacation.

Other people may think our family is a little over the top when it comes to frugality, but our penny pinching allows us to save more, give more, and live an abundantly blessed life.  Thanks so much for stopping by Passionate Penny Pincher, and feel free to send me an email at contact @ passionate penny pincher.com (leave out spaces) if you have any questions!

A HUGE thanks to David at Creative Origins Marketing and Chris at Boyd’s Internet for all their hard work in creating Passionate Penny Pincher.  THANK YOU!!!

Thanks so much Kelly for sharing! My favorite store to shop is Publix too, but I hated seeing deals at other stores and feeling like I shouldn’t share them because I used Publix’s name (I also got a little worried about how all that legal stuff works). I’ll continue to share Publix deals primarily, and only plan to add Kroger $1 or less deals (there really aren’t many sites out there with much Kroger info!) Other than that it’ll be the same site – just lightened up a bit! Please let me know if you have any other comments or suggestions – I’m definitely just figuring this stuff out!

I love the new layout and site. It is easy to navigate. One of the things I liked best about Publix Penny Pincher was that you focused on PUBLIX. There are already so many sites with other stores and deals. I come to your site because it is not bogged down with all that other information. I hope you continue to keep the focus on PUBLIX, my favorite store. Keep the good deals coming.
