Jamie here! I finally got one of these inflatable SUPs because I LOVE being out on the water but my kayak is too unwieldy for me when I’m solo (I need help getting it on/off the top of the van). I love how portable this looked, so I gave it a try! While my son has taken it out twice to the lake himself (and had a blast), I wanted my virgin voyage to be away from prying eyes. I used my friend’s backyard pool to test out my balance and stability before going to the lake. Here are my thoughts!
Pros:
- The paddleboard is very rigid when blown up – it does not feel like an inflatable!
- Easy to pump up but does take a little while since it’s a manual pump.
- VERY DURABLE – it doesn’t feel like anything could easily puncture this
- Super portable with the backpack
Cons:
- I felt stable while kneeling but NOT while standing. I need practice for sure! (Although I’ll mostly be lying on my board soaking up sun)
- Without the fins attached this is slow to paddle and doesn’t aim true, DEFINITELY remember to put on the fins.
This might make a GREAT gift for someone loves a little adventure, or just soaking up the sun and rocking in the waves when the weather gets a little warmer. 🙂
