Coming up on October 29, Walmart Savings Catcher will be changing some of their Terms of Use, and Walmart Pay will become the exclusive way to submit your receipt to Savings Catcher! (This will allow you to submit and spend your rewards within Walmart Pay). Due to this change, you will no longer be able to scan paper receipts within the app or on your desktop.

Instead of scanning your paper receipts in the app, you’ll create an eReceipt using the Walmart Pay scanner when paying. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Enroll in Walmart Pay
  • Use Walmart Pay at checkout to create an eReceipt for submission (open Walmart Pay and select payment type, or scan the QR code at register to generate eReciept)
  • Tap “Submit Receipt” from Walmart Pay confirmation page or from your Savings Catcher dashboard on the Walmart app

Walmart Pay allows you to easily submit your receipt before leaving the store, keeps track of your purchase history, and you can print eReceipts at home for cash back apps! (Yay!)

Don’t want to worry about printing your receipt at home (to use with your cash back apps)? Read this! —> If you use Walmart Pay only, you will not get a paper receipt, but if you pay a portion of your transaction with cash, a receipt will print! For example, one PPP reader (at self checkout) added a dime as payment, and then hit Walmart Pay for the rest of the payment (to be able to use Savings Catcher to submit the eReceipt), and she received a paper receipt, too!

(She asked a Walmart employee why she received a paper receipt, and they said it was because she used two forms of payment. So this might also work if you pay a portion with your debit/credit card, but I haven’t tried it yet!).

Great tip if you don’t want to use the paper and ink to print your receipt at home!
