Here are some important Christmas shipping deadlines to watch for if you’re finishing up your shopping online. Take a look!

Christmas Shipping Deadlines for 2026

I’m so thankful for online shopping during the holidays – it saves so much time and energy, and just makes the Christmas season a teensy bit more manageable! But shipping times may be a bit delayed this year, which means you may want to get in those last few gift orders earlier than normal.

Here are the shipping deadlines we saw in 2025 in order to get Christmas Eve delivery:

  • Old Navy  – 12/12
  • Target – 12/17
  • Ulta – 12/18 by 1 pm EST
  • Best Buy – 12/18 
  • Walmart – 12/19 (plus members); 12/17 if non-plus member
  • Macy’s – 12/19 by 5 pm EST
  • Kohl’s – 12/21 *with expedited shipping*
  • Amazon – 12/22 for items with Prime 2-Day Shipping option
Note that Amazon’s Christmas shipping deadline REALLY VARIES A LOT based on how close you are to a shipping hub for 2026.  Their shipping page does say allow 4 – 5 business days for standard shipping.  We would definitely recommend getting as early as possible for a Christmas Eve guarantee for 2026!

Here are the Christmas shipping deadlines from 2025 for the major outlets – USPS, FedEx, and UPS.  

December 17

  • USPS Ground Advantage
  • USPS First Class Mail

December 18

  • USPS Priority Mail

December 19

  • UPS 3 Day Select

December 20

  • USPS Priority Mail Express
  • FedEx Express Saver

December 21

  • UPS 2nd Day Air
  • FedEx 2 Day

December 23

  • UPS Next Day Air
  • FedEx Standard/Priority Overnight

Note that these guidelines for shipping are for the Contiguous US.  Shipping internationally, to the military, or to Alaska or Hawaii will be on a different timeline and it would be best to reach out to your shipping provider to confirm those dates.
