Decorating On A Dollar At The Dollar Tree

While I was at the Dollar Tree grabbing a few coupon deals yesterday, I of course decided  to check out their fall decor!  They have so many fun things for fall . . . candles & vases & super cute table toppers all for the rock bottom price of just $1.  (WOOT!)

I love the look in magazines showing multiple items in a row down a long buffet or table, but the cost of purchasing that many items deters me pretty quickly.  But I spent just a whopping $12 to fluff up our dining room for fall, and these can easily be used to decorate for a fall party.  Here's what I purchased:

  • 3 vine wreaths
  • 2 swags of fall leaves (I wish I'd grabbed three!)
  • 3 glass jars for the candle
  • 2 bags of candy corn to put underneath the votives in each candle
  • 2 cute pumpkin centerpieces . . . I couldn't believe how cute they were for just a dollar! 🙂

If you've seen a jillion ideas over on Pinterest that you'd like to make this fall, it's worth running over to the Dollar Tree to see what they have available before spending too much somewhere else.  You can also find a huge selection of these items available online at the Dollar Tree, so even if you don't have one near you, you can still score lots of great deals!

If you've come up with any fun crafty projects at the Dollar Store, please leave a comment to share ~ I'd love to hear your ideas!

I'd love for you to join me over on Pinterest (I love that place!)  If you have a blog and have done a little fluffing in your home, I’d love to see it, so leave your link in the comments section. Also, if there’s a craft you’ve seen on a website that you’re hoping to make, feel free to share that link as well (I’m always looking for new ideas!)

The candy corn would be marked men at my house… fact, they prob wouldn’t make it into the votives.

    Otherwise, cute finds!

    • Let me tell you . . . the battle for the candy corn has already begun (unfortunately, it’s also my favorite candy on the planet so I have to keep reminding myself that the candles are in it!) 🙂

  2. I saw an awesome idea on pinterest that I am trying this weekend- take glass jars from Dollar Tree, and glass candleholders, glue/epoxy/etc together and they look like the expensive apothecary jars you get at craft/home stores for $20+ each (for $2!). I grabbed a lot of Halloween decorations there too!

    • That sounds so cute Andrea ~ I loved all their glassware… they had tons at our store!

    • Andrea, I’ve done that and I LOVE them! I have 3 of them and they work wonderfully and look just as great as the expensive ones. Just make sure you get a strong glue and let them set. I had one come unglued and just had to put a little extra glue on it and it’s fine.

  3. Love th ideas..but i think the battery operated votives, which also can be puchased in th dollar store, would be a safer alternative to the regula votives. Silk flowers/ leaves are highly flammable and burn quickly, we had a family of six killed in a housefire this past summer in a nearby town. Fire chief said he had never seen a fire spread so quickly, and it was due to the silk flower garland the family had hanging all around the house. I never realuzed how flammable his stuff was…please be careful!!!

  4. Thanks for the Dollar Tree suggestion for dinning room table….absolutely love it and going to try to copy it. Very pretty, we just moved so this would make a new home feel more homey without breaking the bank.
