Tips for Using Coupons at CVS:

Before You Head to CVS be sure to do these two things:

#1. Download and Sign up for a CVS account in CVS app so you can clip eCoupons and track your rewards.

#2. Sign up for CVS Carepass ~ you can get $10 ECBs each month for a $5 Fee!

*Can’t leave the house? No worries ~ you can also shop online over HERE.

When You Get to the Store:

#1. Scan your card at the Red Kiosk when you walk in to receive store coupons you can use.

#2. Start small.  Sometimes just buying a few items a week will help you figure out how to get the hang of ECB (Extra Care Bucks).

#3. Get cheap/free items you need or can donate. This is HUGE – what called me years ago to even work for Laurie was wanting to help other people donate to their local community.

#5. Scan the item on your CVS app and see if any coupons pop up to match the sale item.

#6. KNOW YOUR BUDGET. Its so easy to want to snag every deal, but know your budget and stick to it.

I have been using your website for years and love it. However, this is the first week that not one of the coupons you listed for CVS have shown up in the app for me. It must be a glitch on my end but it’s so frustrating.

    • Bridgett - PPP Team says

Hmm, it looks like all of the coupons are still working on our end. You may need to refresh your app/screen to get the coupons to work. Hope that helps! 🙂

  2. mamasweetpea says

for some reason, the nexxus coupon is only working on their color shampoo and conditioner. It is not applying to any other types 🙁 has anyone successfully gotten it to work? I was thinking of trying out one of the nexxus shampoo and conditioners

  3. T says

I’m actually just curious – I do realize it’s a job for you Shannon so it’s different – but what do you do with all this stuff? We can’t use the amount of stuff each week in maybe 3 months, let alone a week.

I love a deal but having this much stuff in my house is overwhelming for me.

    • Shannon says

Yes I donate the items to local non profits! Its super fun to do that because my family and I build relationships with the people. Like one is a group home for mentally challenged adults so its fun going in there and talking to the residents. I am known by one of the guys as shaving cream lady! haha. But yes I totally could not and would not want to keep all the items. Other organizations are homeless shelters and local pregnancy test centers. Hope that helps! Shannon

  4. Maddy Perdue says

Hi, the micellar deal and others do not work. It is only 2$ of 1 and cannot be scanned a second time. L’oreal clearly states only 1 of this coupon can be used per day, not two. Plus these are app coupons so the teller cannot attempt to scan twice.

Also, my CVS app does not display 2$ off $10 or even 3$ off $10. Where are you finding these, maybe I am not able to see them living in FL. We have very restrictive couponing rules out here. A hyperlink to the Apps would be great!

    Thanks for all you do.

    • Shannon says

Hey Maddy! I (Shannon) did this deal myself. I had all those coupons in my account and they all came off at checkout. It may vary per account though. I am so sorry! I thought they were in everyone’s account. I did update the post – thanks so much for letting us know. Again I am so sorry!! Shannon

    • Ashley says

Front store gets their big truck shipments every other week. They may get a few items in between that week, but it’s just items they’re out of, usually store use stuff. Ask what day truck comes and unless there is a holiday, which moves truck to the next day excluding weekends, it will continue to be that day. Coming from a former CVS employee

  5. Lynn says

Hello! Normally, I love your deals and appreciate all of your hard work. Why are you endorsing coupon misuse with the following scenarios:

Buy 2 L’Oreal Elvive Hair Care at $5.29, Get $4 ECBs (Limit 2)
Use $3/2 CVS app coupon and $3/2 printable

Buy 2 Clairol Hair Color at $8.99, Get $4 ECBs (Limit 1)
Use $6/2 CVS app coupon and $6/2 printable

Buy 2 L’Oreal Root Rescue Hair Color at $8.99, Get $4 ECBs (Limit 1)
Use $6/2 CVS app coupon and $6/2 printable

You cannot stack manufacturer coupons as stated in the above scenarios. Please double-check your scenarios before publishing them.

    • Shannon says

Hey Lynn! I did these deals myself and they worked. I have talked with the manager at CVS and he said that it is okay to stack the CVS app and printable coupon. I am 100% all about integrity I did the deal myself and they all worked.

  6. Lynell Holland-Montgomery says

Over the course of many attempts, I’ve spent innumerable hours trying to get the sale ads, app coupons, manufacturer coupons, & ECB’s to align with the fantastic bargains I see here at PPP. NOT ONE TIME over the years of trying have I ever been successful. It seems easy in writing, but in my experience it’s been nothing but difficult, frustrating, confusing, and immensely time consuming. Every time I try, I end up wanting to scream with irritation at the time I wasted for no reason, and the paper & ink wasted from printing out the lists PPP has provided. This is not aimed at PPP; I can’t even fathom the time they’ve put in to provide this information. My ire is with my local stores, their apps which don’t work properly and are NOT user friendly (CVS for one) and the lack of products available that are “supposedly” on sale. Grrrr I’m just venting but I am curious if other penny pinchers experience similar problems. I do appreciate what PPP is trying to do for us, and on the VERY rare occasion, I have found and item or two. Most often though, with CVS, my ECB’s go unused because I’m unable to find things I truly need before they expire

    • Alice -PPP Team says

I am so sorry you’re having trouble with these deals at the stores. Maybe reach out to the store manager when a product is not available and ask for a raincheck? I hate to hear that these aren’t working out for you. Let us know if you have any questions! We are happy to help!

      • Kris says

Last week I hit the jackpot at CVS! Spent $220 on items to donate. With coupons from the CVS app $90 was taken off and I racked up $60 in Extra Bucks. $50 for $220 worth of merchandise.

    • Debbi P says

I understand. Not all CVS stores keep good stock. I have always gotten good buys on things I needed at CVS (if in stock) even before following ppp. Never let your extra bucks expire. If mine are getting close & I do not particularly need something I always buy toothpaste, contact solution or laundry detergent. One of them is usually on sale or bogo, just apply those bucks & it will still be cheaper than most places. Keep trying.

    • Ashley says

Hi Lynell! I used to work for CVS. If there is a product that is unavailable, first ask them to check upstairs. If they still don’t have the product, tell them you would like a rain check for the item and I believe they have to still honor the sale price. Obviously if there are any issues, the store manager’s name is hanging up right outside of the front doors. Ask to speak to them. I hope this helps!

  7. Katie Dixon says

    Hi,
Here is my question, are all CVS ad the same nationwide?
I can’t seem to find some of the items that are being recommended for a great deal.
    Thanks
    Katie

    • Brooke says

That is a great question! From what we are aware of, weekly sales are the same nationwide but to be sure you may want to contact CVS customer service. If you are having trouble finding deals let us know if theres anything we can do to help!

    • Viv says

Just FYI, I had a store associate tell me that the ads can be slightly different, even within the same metro area. I have not seen a great variance, but once tried to look for a sale item from my ad, across the river in another nearby state, and was told it was not in their ad.
Sometimes I will find out of stock items listed at another store within our metro area. I do an online, free pickup order at that store just to make the purchase before a deal/coupon expires. It saves me running around town on a deadline, and I am usually going to be passing the other location sometime in the next couple days, so I can pick it up “at my leisure.”

    • Teresa says

No they don’t seem to be. In my area of west ky they sometimes follow the national ad by a week or sale period it often screws up your ability to use a coupon when the items are on sale. Or other times they have the sale price and dig coupon but do not offer the ECBs other areas do

    • Bobbie Jo says

Extra Care Bucks… CVS reward money basically.. if you look thru the ad or on store price displays, you will see Buy xxxx or Spend $xx.xx Get XxX ECB … they add up fast and come in handy. I remember going in one day and my original total was 93$ and some change.. ended up paying 14$ without even trying.

    • Victoria Valdivia says

      Same
ECB.. I believe is *extra care bucks. It’s that amount they return to you in store credit for purchasing the item. You can use it on your next purchase, there are some limitations and the EXPIRATION always gets me.

I wish couponing was easier. I have adhd & ocd. I get overwhelmed easily. If I don’t understand it and it has several steps I can’t help but quit. I want to coupon so bad but I get too overwhelmed. I wish I could just pay someone to buy mine when they get theirs. I’ll just go to the dollar tree. ‍♀️

    • Nikki Morgan says

I used the emoji with the lady and her hand over her face. I have no idea why it used those 2 symbols in place of it. I just didn’t want anyone to think I left that weird combo. Lol.

    • Darlene says

Awe hugs to u – I work at Brighton and once in great while some women come in and take it slowly they get over stimulated I guess when looking and i’m suggesting items they’ll hint that they want to be left alone. Kinda like you really want to coupon and save funds but it does seem like a lot of homework. Im older and work full time and tried and spending a lot of time on figuring all this great help is overwhelming but I like it’s suggested begin a lil at a time

  9. Ruth says

I agree that figuring out sales are difficult at CVS. And trying to read the receipt is difficult also. Instead of seeing your money off from a coupon you see a small amount taken out of several sales. I should not have to spend time figuring out whether or not my receipt is correct.

  10. Kristy says

I just ordered online and picked up in store and did my emailed receipt does not have any extra care bucks nor does my app. I so not understand where to get the ecbs from…

    • Alice -PPP Team says

Hi Kristy! If you purchased the qualifying products, the ECBs should’ve been sent to your CVS app, under Deals & Rewards.

  11. Cathy McGroarty Marck says

I totally agree! CVS used to be my favorite & now I can’t stand it. For all the same reasons you just said. You said it perfectly!!
