Can I just tell you that I love couponing?  I am by no means one of those “Extreme Couponers”, 🙂 but it’s still so fun to get so many great deals (without spending too much time hunting down the bargains!)  This week I loved having my new coupon organizer to easily grab my coupons from, and I’ve got to tell you that I didn’t go back and clip a single coupon from my older inserts.  (I should have, but there just wasn’t enough time at our house!)  Here’s what I purchased for $40.88 plus $6.32 in tax:

And here’s what we donated:

I was so excited to get those Craisins to donate – many of you know that our church provides backpacks to children in our community for the weekend, and to get single serve snack packs to send was so fun!  Thanks so much to the two sweet couponers (whose names I should really know!) who happened to see me at Target and hand me some extra coupons for those. . . love that!

I know you all love to see the list broken down, so here it is, but see these and loads more Publix coupon matchups over HERE.

    Laurie,
I watched your tutorial on your new couponing organizer and I went straight to wal-mart to get one since I still had money in my budget for the month! I have been telling my hubby the past two weeks I need a new way of organizing…although I did not buy any baseball card organizers, I got everything else you did and love the front pocket for all my publix and other store coupon booklets! I am continuing to save my inserts with writing the dates in large print with my sharpie as that works best for me right now.
Can you tell me how to get the HSV city booklet or where to purchase one so I can get those star market Q’s? My friend gave me 5 of hers, but I am all out!
    Your site is awesome!

Hi April! Local schools sell them, but usually they have more in the fall – if I hear of anyone selling them I’ll try to remember to post it! Don’t forget that many Publix stores in our area also will accept the $5 off $25 Sav a Lot coupon (to access it just go to savalot.com and sign up for their emails – and you’ll be able to print those coupons.) Hope that helps!

Great deals Laurie! I too love when I can get a good food deal for donation. I know all the free HBA products are very appreciated but food is a hot commodity. My husband and I have just discussed upping the amount I spend every month on donation items so I am very excited about that. I just can’t help but desire to do more. 🙂

I love following your shopping trip savings! I’m still learning and a little confused about coupon stacking and the number of coupons that can be used. I noticed on your recent Publix trip that you listed buying 8 Juicy juice packs and used -4 $2/4 q’s. How can you use 4 of those only buying 8? I thought only 2 of the $2/4 q’s would be possible???I appreciate any help you can
    provide.

I read it in the Huntsville Times last week, but they don’t show any signs of going out of business. I don’t shop there, but I’m assuming it’s inevitable, nonetheless. I may have gotten the dates wrong. 🙁

  5. Alicia Wooldridge says

I had my best shopping trip at Publix this week. Spent $37.46 and saved $66.82. I’m still kind of new at the whole couponing thing so I was super excited about this. Some of the great deals I got were 2 50-count bottles of Advil for 89 cents each, 3 Oral B toothbrushes for a total of 50 cents, 2 pack Covergirl eyeliner for 49 cents, Crest toothpaste for 32 cents plus it had samples with it (toothpaste & floss) and $20 worth of coupons!), Uncle Ben’s rice for 34 cents each, pasta for 25 cents, 2 boxes of Taster’s Choice for 59 cents each, and many more. I hope I can be able to do this every time!

    • Laurie says

Great job Alicia! You really should be able to keep it up – once you’ve got it figured out it just gets easier!

I hate it too for Florida folks Danielle! I didn’t realize until talking to a manager recently that the biggest reason they don’t double is because the competition in FL doesn’t double (is that right?) Anyways, since Kroger is their biggest competition in other states, and they double, it definitely helps Publix keep it up (and is why I’ll always want a Kroger or two around!)
