Make Ahead Homemade Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2-3/4 cup cold water

Instructions

  • Combine flour, sugar and salt and whisk together.
  • Cut cold butter into cubes. Use pastry cutter or forks and cut them into the flour mixture until the butter becomes little pieces in the flour mixture.
  • Take cold water and put in the mixture slowly.
  • If you have a Kitchenaid take the hook attachment and turn it on low until it forms into a ball. If you do not have a Kitchenaid just mix with a wooden spoon until it forms a ball.
  • Turn the dough out on a floured surface and make the 2 balls into 2 discs.
  • Cover with plastic wrap tightly. Put in fridge for an hour or if you are going to freeze put them in a freezer bag wrapped in the plastic wrap and freeze immediately.
  • Remove from fridge after an hour
  • Use for any pie recipe :)
  • *When freezing take out of freezer the night before to use in recipe.
