Ingredients

  • 6 cups tart apples, sliced and peeled (about 8 medium)
  • cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 17.9 oz pkg snickerdoodle cookie mix
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss apples with sugars, cinnamon, and fruit juices.
  • Spread onto 11x7-inch baking dish lightly coated with cooking spray.
  • Place cookie mix and cinnamon-sugar packet in bowl.
  • Sprinkle over apples. Drizzle with butter and top with pecans.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and apples are tender.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.
