Chili Con Carne for the Slow Cooker or Stovetop

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 4 cups canned tomatoes
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash paprika
  • dash cayenne pepper
  • 2 16 oz. can red kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 package Chili Seasoning Mix

Instructions

  • Cook ground beef in skillet, drain fat.
  • Add all ingredients to pot on stove, simmer 1 1/2 hours, without boiling so that it doesn't scorch.
  • (NOTE: If you'd rather cook in crockpot, brown beef in the morning and let cook on low 8 hours ~ it works just as well as cooking on the stovetop!)
