When I saw the BOGO Quick N Eat Angus Burger's* on sale this week, I knew Publix was gearing us up for some yummy grilling over the Memorial Day weekend! If you're planning to get together with friends or family this weekend Publix put everything on sale to make your week a little easier.
I looked everywhere for a great easy recipe for a mushroom-onion-topped burger, and when I couldn't find one that used the ingredients from my pantry, I finally mixed this up myself. Those mushrooms and onions were so stinkin' yummy – after dinner I scraped the pan clean – they were SOOOOO good!
Here's what you'll need . . .
4 Hamburger Patties – We used our BOGO Earth Fare Burgers, but the coupon ended yesterday!

*I just ran to Publix and noticed these are pre-cooked (but they say you can grill them or just heat in microwave to warm). They do have 6 in the package, so they're a pretty good deal, but Publix also has their ground chuck on sale for $2.99/lb. or Kroger has it for $1.99/lb. this week.
4 Hamburger Buns
Cheese
Kraft American Singles BOGO $2.79
For the topping . . .
3 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup mushrooms
1 large onion
Sweet Vidalia Onions On Sale $1.79/lb.
1 tablespoon white vinegar
$0.50/1 Heinz Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon worcestershire
$1/1 Lea and Perrins Original or Thick Classic Worcestershire Sauce (IE) or Printable (FF)
$0.50/1 Frenchs Worcestershire Sauce
$0.50/1 French's Worcestershire Sauce 5/9/2010 SS Insert (exp 7/11/2010)
$1/1 Lea and Perrins 4/18/2010 SS Insert (exp 6/30/2010)
$1/1 Lea and Perrins Worcestershire 5/23/2010 SS Insert (exp 7/18/2010)
1/2 teaspoon beef boullion
Heat grill. Grill hamburgers as desired (we add salt, pepper, and garlic powder). While hamburgers are grilling, start to heat olive oil in skillet on stove. Add mushrooms and onions, then add white vinegar, worcestershire and beef bouillion. Cook until mushrooms are soft and onions are transparent (I probably had cooked them for about 15 minutes). Top hamburgers with cheese, then add onions and mushrooms. YUMMMM!
