This is my favorite chili recipe – I borrowed it from my mother-in-law and have added a few extra ingredients over the years. It's easy, and makes a great dinner when it's chilly outside!
You may have your own chili recipe that uses similar ingredients, so either try this one out or use your own and check out the coupon matchups! I'm not super thrilled with the ground beef price, so watch out for a better deal. This will be our Eating from the Pantry dinner this week as I've got all these items stockpiled – woohoo! Here's what you'll need . . .
1 lb. ground beef Lean Ground Beef on sale $3.49/lb.; go ahead and buy 2 lbs. (in seperate containers) to use $1/2 lbs. ground beef from Yellow Advantage flier
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
2 cans canned tomatoes Hunts BOGO $1.39 $1/4 Blinkie
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce $1/1 Muir Glen Organic when you register HERE, should be around $.09 after coupon
1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder $.75/1 McCormick spice 1/3 RP
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash paprika $.75/1 McCormick spice 1/3 RP
Dash cayenne pepper (optional) Could also use Frank's Hot Sauce, Advantage Buy $1.50, use $.50/1 HERE
2 16 oz. cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed Bush's Kidney Beans Advantage Buy $.75
1 packet chili seasoning mix Publix brand $.45; French's Chili-O Advantage Buy $.75
Brown ground beef (can brown the night before if you're in a hurry in the morning!). Drain any fat. Place in crockpot and add all other ingredients. Cook on low for 8 hours.

Cheddar Cheese – I didn't see any great cheddar cheese deals, so if you don't have any in your stockpile the Publix Brand is probably your best bet!
