What To Do With Cheap Chicken?

Since Publix has their boneless, skinless chicken breast on sale this week for just $1.99/lb. (which is my stock-up price at Publix, and at just about any grocery store lately. . . ) I thought I’d do a quick roundup of all my favorite chicken recipes, because we eat a lot of cheap chicken around here!  These are a few of my favorite chicken recipes:

Buffalo Chicken Slicers

Slow Cooked Chicken Tortilla Soup

Sweet & Sour Chicken Kabobs

Chicken Broccoli Braid

White Chicken Chili or Hurst White Bean Chili

Buttered Chicken With Mashed Potatoes

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Slow Cooked Creamy Italian Chicken

And, a note to all you passionate penny pinchers out there:  when you see a good price on meat (like boneless, skinless chicken breast for $1.99/lb. or less), stock up.  As I’ve been looking over various grocery stores weekly ads over the last few months, it seems that basic pantry prices are undoubtedly on the rise, so get the best deal you can while it’s available!

Thank you again for introducing me to the whole bird concept. Now I’m on the lookout for manager’s specials pricing on those! They freeze so well!

    • It’s a difficult to try them out the first time, but I have one thawing out right now to cook today (for some sweet chicken salad for a girls trip this weekend – yum!) So glad you like it! 🙂
