A very sweet (but not really so nice) friend of mine has been sending me recipes for non-chocolate treats since I gave it up for Lent, and ohhhhh, they look so good! Well, when I saw this one I knew we had to try it because I had everything in my pantry to make them! They're super easy to make, and your kids will love helping you mix all the ingredients and roll up the dough.
The recipe is from Full Bellies, Happy Kids, and while I copied it for the most part, I halved her recipe because I really didn't need that much food (thank goodness, because I would have gained a pound or two just having those little Bites around my house!) So, here's the recipe (in half), and if you want to see more instructions check her site out HERE for this recipe and lots more yummy recipes (and it's worth running over there to see her pictures because they're way better than mine!) Here's what you'll need:
3 Tablespoons butter, softened (I used margarine because it was all I had)
$1/1 Promise Spread or $.50/1 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter HERE
1/4 cup brown sugar
$.40/2 Domino Sugar HERE
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
$.25/1 from 1/24 RP
Stack with $.55/1 from Healthy Meals Healthy Kids Booklet
1/6 cup butterscotch chips Nestle Advantage Buy $2.50 until 3/5, use $.50/2 Toll House Morsels HERE
1 tube Pillsbury crescent rolls
$.50/1 HERE or $.40/2 HERE
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
$.40/1 Domino's Sugar HERE
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a small bowl, mix the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon, then stir in the butterscotch chips.
