The Friday Fluff Up: Simple Penny-Pinched Teacher Gift

In our local schools next week is Teacher Appreciation week, and I noticed that my friend Colleen (who runs Picket Fence Design Studios) made the cutest penny-pinched vase to hold flowers for your child’s teacher! Here’s what she used:

  • crayons bought during the back-to-school sales for $.05 per box (it took 2 boxes)
  • a vase from Dollar Tree (have I mentioned I love that place?)
  • scrapbook paper and ric-rac
  • and of course, hot glue 🙂
She estimates that she spent less than $1.50 on the project!  You can see a great tutorial on how to make a similar project over HERE, and I’d love to hear any other clever ideas that you have for penny-pinched teacher gifts!

Thanks so much for the great idea Colleen!  Colleen runs Picket Fence Studios here in Madison, Alabama, which hosts super cute art parties for your little ones.  Go HERE to learn more.

I’d love for you to join me over on Pinterest (I love that place!)  If you have a blog and have done a little fluffing in your home, I’d love to see it, so leave your link in the comments section. Also, if there’s a craft you’ve seen on a website that you’re hoping to make, feel free to share that link as well (I’m always looking for new ideas!)  See more previous Friday Fluff Up projects and ideas . . . and Happy Fluffing!
