When I got home from my Kroger trip yesterday I realized my freezer was in sore need of some attention, so instead of working on a Friday Fluff Up project (which I'd way rather do. . . ), I decided it was time to clean out the freezer and get some idea of what exactly I had! As it turns out, my daughter's preschool needs Chicken Nuggets next week and I had no idea that we had any, but sure enough, there was a whole big bag of Tyson Chicken Nuggets buried on the bottom of my freezer drawer!
Here's what it looked like when I started (this keeping it real thing is for the birds . . .)
And here it is in the middle of the disaster . . . (yuck!)
Finally, here we are all tidied up! If you happen to see me at the grocery store purchasing any kind of garlic bread, please. stop. me. I know the stuff is terrible for you, but I have an eleven year old boy who thinks there's nothing better in the whole wide world than Texas Toast, so when I find a deal I just keep on buying more. However, I feel horrible letting my family have it more than once or twice a month, so it just fills up my freezer! I know I have just a few more sweet years (maybe months, EEK?!) of being the coolest mom ever, so I am completely buying his love these days. (However I am using my coupons to help out . . .) 🙂
Believe it or not, we only have a regular side by side refrigerator/freezer, and while I'd love a large freezer we just don't have room for it (and I figure if we've made it this long without one, we'll surely survive without it!) But, it does need to stay organized, and I was amazed at all the meals that I had lurking in the back of my freezer!
Do you need to do some organizing in your home this weekend to get ready for Thanksgiving and (yikes!) Christmas in just 36 days? Take a few minutes to get it together! Here are a few of my favorite organizing ideas I found over on Pinterest . . .
- Check out this absolutely amazing way to organize spices (seriously?)
- Visit this perfect pantry (I'm seriously debating pulling out the chalkboard paint because we have that exact pantry!)
- Take a peek at this smart idea for organizing your measuring spoons
- Go ahead and organize your linen closet while you're at it 🙂
