I am such a dork.
For real.
Even as a kid, there was always something about setting a pretty table that simply filled me up to the very tip top. I think for my entire life I've pretty much dreamed of and soaked up being a mom and homemaker, so fluffing up my home over the holiday season just brings me crazy joy.
I love hosting family (truly. I LOVE IT). And for me setting the table might just be my absolute favorite thing to do.
Here's what I'm using this year:
- Celebration Menu Plans cards with conversation starting questions (we added different conversation questions to each conversation card in our Celebration Menu Plan Boxes, and it occurred to me to use them on the table this year. So fun and a great way to get people talking around the table!)
- Target white dishes
- Pineapple glasses (IÂ love these so much!)
- Silverware (I bought this back in 2017 but I absolutely love it. It's the perfect weight, matches everything, and is just a simple classic style)
- Scarf
- Hearth & Home CandleÂ
- Fresh greenery from our yard
- White napkins and placemats from Home Goods
- Lemons (I was thinking oranges would be better, but I only had a lemon in my fridge!)
- Cinnamon sticks
I started out this morning sending James to the yard to trim some fresh greenery from our trees …
Cleared my table,
And set to work.
The Hive and Home candle I already had worked perfectly, and I added in a fresh lemon for a little color to the space.
As I was pulling it all together, I remembered that when we designed the Celebration Menu Plan package, we included different conversation questions on each recipe. I decided they'd be perfect to add in so that each person can answer a question at the table.
My favorite questions? “What are you most thankful for this year” and “Who would be your top five people to spend Thanksgiving Day with”?Â
If you're like me and love fluffing your home for family or friends (even if it's just a few!), take a few minutes over the next few days to plan your Thanksgiving table too. You don't have to spend a penny, just gather up what you already have at home and savor each spot in your very own space.
Do you decorate your table for Thanksgiving? What are your favorite things to use? Leave a comment to share ~ I love hearing from you!
And If you need any ideas for what to make on Thanksgiving this little box might come in super handy ~ and it happens to be so pretty too. 🙂Â
