Sam’s Price Match to Publix, Kroger and Aldi

Note from Laurie – I am LOVING that Shannon’s taken the time to do this for you all! I was a little surprised as I read through the list this week, but as I kept reading realized that Sam’s always seems to win on the basic whole food staples (milk, eggs, chicken, some produce), but your local grocery usually has better prices using coupons on things like cereals and snacks. It’s definitely worth taking a few minutes to compare!

Curious what’s worth buying at Sam’s Club? Take a peek over HERE, and be sure to share what items you typically buy at Sam’s Club too! This week I went through and price matched a few of the Publix, Kroger and Aldi deals to the prices at Sam’s, and thought it was interesting to see where each store won the savings war. Check it out:

also need to factor in cost of membership and extra gas. My Sam's isn't convenient to get to compared to the other grocery stores

  2. Good point on convenience, but also the fact that Sam's doesn't take the same coupon match ups as other stores ~ does it?

  3. Debra DeBord says:

What a great idea! I love that you posted this! I also agree with the above comment about the cost of membership, but if you are a member of a Sam’s or a place like Costco then some of these were a better deal. In the past I belonged to Sams (many, many years ago) and later a BJ’s. Got a good deal on membership for BJ’s and decided buying my gas there would more than pay my membership, which was cheap since it was bought through a work group membership. So everything else was the icing on the cake. Plus is was close to me.

  4. I buy my meat, diapers, paper products, laundry soap, fruit, salad and salad fixings. Then things I don't use in bulk at publix. Thanks for the comparison. I do try to check prices before going and now I really be watching your site for some of those things cheaper elsewhere.

  5. Renee Boyd Renner says:

I have set items I always get at Sam's because it is consistently cheaper. I have other items I watch there. I almost always buy all my meat there. It more than makes up for the cost of the membership for me bc I can get gifts and other things there too much cheaper. One of the best deals they have going on is $100 of Logan's gift cards for $79.99. That is a go to restaurant for us, so I can do that plus use my coupons when we go. it is conveniently located for me though.

    • I love the restaurant gift cards there too Renee – we loved the Zaxby’s one! I think it’s definitely worth it if you’re careful to shop the certain things that are great prices (I got a huge bag of salad blends yesterday there for $2.99 – loved that!)
