Curious if the magic crystal hair eraser really works? We ordered it just so we could give you an honest review and we were shocked!
Magic Crystal Hair Eraser Review
Jamie here! Have you see the video ads for that magic leg hair eraser – but thought it wouldn't work and also it was a crazy $40?? Me too… Over and over, until I had to try it. (But not for $40!)
I was soooo curious that I finally went onto Amazon and found this highly-rated Crystal Hair Eraser for under $10 (there are even cheaper options here). I read a lot of reviews and decided to order and give it a try. I hate shaving my legs (I often get razor burn and little bumps) so I was excited to try an alternative method! I let my hair grow out for a few weeks just so I could do a good before and after and WHEW did they need help by the end!
I was trying this out last night while my husband was watching TV so I put down a towel under my legs to make sure to catch any hair and started my test.
And you guys…
WHAT EVEN IS THIS SORCERY?? I thought it would be a scam but it ACTUALLY WORKS! You just rub the hair eraser in a circle GENTLY on your skin and after a few passes the hair is gone. Plus (and this is a big plus) it exfoliates all your dead skin cells with it! This is so gross but here is a close up of what was on the hair eraser so you can see for yourself.
(I know – yuck!)
Reviews I've read say that by using this for a few weeks their “strawberry legs” have slowly disappeared and their skin is the softest it's ever been. I have those strawberry legs!!! I want pretty leg skin!
Check out this Amazon review for someone speaking from a more long-term experience:
I don't often write long reviews, but this product is truly magical. I have rough and dry skin on my legs and because of shaving I suffer from the perpetual strawberry skin syndrome. Nothing that I have tried in the past has ever worked or given me as soft and smooth skin as this product did. All you have to keep in mind is, you want to rotate it in small circular fashion on the skin and not put too much pressure on it. As you do that, literally the layer of dead skin starts falling off like snowflake and what you're left with is really smooth, soft, hairless skin. I would definitely not even try using this on armpits or anywhere soft and gentle like that, I'm only going to be using it on my arms and legs because that skin is tough. So even if I end up scratching it a little it wouldn't hurt as much as some of the other places. 100% recommend to users!
Here's how the Crystal Hair Eraser works:
The Crystal Hair Eraser is essentially an epilator – or exfoliator – made up of nano-crystal technology. Think of it as a pumice stone but very very fine exfoliation. When you rub the crystal surface over your skin the friction breaks hair down and removes it along with dead skin cells.
WARNING:
Because the nano-crystalline technology exfoliates very well, you don't want to scrub – or press hard – or go too many passes over the same patch of skin. You don't want to end up with a rug burn type of result. You may even want to test it on a small patch on your arm before starting to give yourself awhile to see if your skin is too sensitive. Knowing this, I certainly won't try it on more sensitive areas.
How Did It Feel? Did it hurt?
No it was painless! I thought it was going to hurt since it was tugging out but I only BARELY felt a tugging sensation. It was very slight.
I will say that I did have a tingling for a little while after using it – but I now know that was because I over-exfoliated in the heat of the moment of excitement. (I scrubbed too long and too hard to try to turn my legs into baby skin again) I definitely recommend keeping your passes gentle and stopping your circles once the hair is removed instead of going for “brand new skin” with too many scrubbing-type passes. 😉
Do You Use it Wet or Dry?
I used it on completely dry skin and it worked GREAT. Today I tried it on wet skin and it didn't work as well – it left some hairs behind. The instructions say to soak skin in warm water and then dry completely for the best results.
Does it Work on Short Hair?
The crystal hair eraser actually works BEST on short/medium hair – though I tried it on long luxurious leg hair just to have a fun before and after 🙂
TIP – Avoid Soap or Lotion Right After!
A few hours after using the crystal hair remover I put on a scented lotion before bed and the hot tingle was real. It's the same kind of tingle I get if I put lotion on right after shaving when all those follicles are still open – ouch! But it stopped after about 15 minutes. I know I over-exfoliated so I should've expected that but I wasn't thinking.
I ALSO read in the reviews that someone took a shower right after using these and it burned – I imagine they also over-exfoliated and when soap was introduced it stung. Something to keep in mind – you might just want to do this before bed and let your skin feel normal before trying to put soap or lotion on it
How Long Does it Last?
The crystal hair eraser should last a year. To clean it between uses just rinse it off and let it air dry. In a whole year you could save some serious cash on using razors or buying replacement blades!

I’m not sure if all these people are getting kickbacks for positive reviews but I used the crystal eraser today and I can say it’s not 100% painless as it’s marketed. This product caused burns even with light pressure and using as directed. I would highly recommend that pe Read reviews on other websites such as reddit for actual honest reviews. Buyer beware

This looks great! How long does it last as far as how often do you have to use it? Say you usually shave your legs twice a week, would you have to do this as often? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Hi Bonnie ~ I think it really depends on each person and how fast your hair grows back. If you shave twice a week, I recommend trying the hair eraser twice a week as well and seeing what the results are. I hope this helps!

I JUST got one yesterday and it is CRAZY! I think I over exfoliated a bit too. FYI- the one I got says not to use more than every 2-3 weeks.
