This is the craziest thing our family has ever done, but at noon today we booked a flight to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and we leave tomorrow morning at 8 AM! I've spent all day packing, making reservations, and even sneaking in a quick Publix run so that we'll be ready to go in less than 12 hours. My husband has always been an avid skier, and this was the first year we were going to skip a trip because of his dad's illness. However, when we found flights (from HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA!!!) to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for $167, we decided we might just do it! Oh my goodness!!!
Because we watch our finances pretty closely we had the money saved in a vacation account but planned not to use it this year. I can't tell you what a blessing it is to be able to do something so crazily extravagant, especially after a rough few months at our house. I feel a little guilty because I know there are so many better things that the money could be used for, but the joy in my hubby's voice on the phone today was so cute, and my kids are ecstatic. And I'm so thankful for my little stockpile, because we had all the blistex, sunscreen (it gets bright out there!), and snacks we'll need right in my home grocery store!
So, I may take my computer with me and pass on a few deals, but if things slow down you'll know why. We'll be back early next week, and I hope you all understand the break. Have a great weekend (I know we will be – I may even have to share some pictures of my Alabama Snow Bunnies!)
