Hurry Up and Eat – Hot Diggety Dog!

OK, is that not the funniest stinkin’ hot dog you’ve ever seen?  And, in case you hadn’t heard, you can get ALL the stuff to make this for your little family for next to nothing at Publix this week.  Here’s what you’ll need:

1 Package Macaroni and Cheese
Kraft Velveeta Shells and Cheese BOGO $1.99 (the good stuff!); Use $1/2 HERE or HERE, $.49 after coupon!

8 Hot Dogs
Ball Park Franks BOGO $4.19; USe $1/1, $.55/1, or $1/2 from 1/10 RP; $1.10 – $1.59 depending on coupon
French’s Mustard BOGO $1.87 – $.50/1 or $.30/1 from 1/24 SS or $.50/1 HERE or HERE

Make macaroni and cheese according to package directions.

Make a slit down the middle of one end of each hot dog; this will be the legs. At the other end, make a small slit each side; these will be the arms. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil, and add the hot dogs. Boil for about 5 minutes until the slits open up.

Set the hot dog men on top of the mac and cheese. Use mustard to make a face, hair and clothes or buttons (you could also use a little BOGO Heinz Ketchup, but the mustard will make you $.07 if your store doubles, so it’ll be the winner at my house!)
You’ll pay a whopping $1.59 for your entire family to eat – and your kids will LOVE making these!  I know this could quite possibly be the least healthy meal on the planet, but it’s just a hoot, so have a little fun one night and enjoy (and maybe spend your savings on a little take out for you and your hubby. . .)

Recipe courtesy of All Recipes – be sure to visit All Recipes HERE for TONS  more hot dog ideas (did you know there’s a recipe for hot dog soup???  It doesn’t sound especially appetizing to me, but you could sure make it cheap!) Thanks to I Heart Publix and Two Thrifty Sisters for the coupon matchups!
