Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Hurrican Sandy Relief Efforts

I so rarely watch TV that I stay pretty much out of the loop when it comes to national events.  But yesterday as I was driving I heard on the radio more details on those suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and it just broke my heart ~ the devastation is almost too great to comprehend.

If you’re looking for a place to give, consider making a donation to one of the following organizations:

If you’re a local reader in the North Alabama area, relief efforts here locally coordinated through Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa will be collecting  water, canned food, hygiene items and baby care items at all three Huntsville area police precincts through November 11th to take to those in need in the Northeast.  You can find updated information on the Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa Facebook page.

While I know there is so much to do, even just a small donation made by each of us could have such an impact.  And if you’re in the areas ravaged by the storms, our thoughts and prayers are continually with you.

You know it is a real shame that southern hospitality is shunned in New Jersey and New York. It is sad when we try to help and are turned away so I guess that they don’t need help. I will not be donating any more money when I go shopping because I am not union.
