Have any of you had one of those weeks when getting to the grocery store is just not happening? Well that's the kind of week I've had! Sooooooo, I need your help 🙂
If you've done a little couponing this week, would you mind taking just a minute to leave a comment sharing where you shopped, how much you spent, and how much you saved this week? (And if you've been able to make any donations to your local food pantry, I'd love to hear that too!) For tonight's Grocery & Donation Deals I'll share your totals instead of mine – and hopefully we'll all encourage each other to keep the savings up. Thanks so much (it really does take just a second to comment, I promise!)

I spent $10.56 at Publix yesterday and saved $26.46! Yay for coupons and your website that helps me so much Laurie!
I have a niece who does social work in Chattanooga-she came to visit me last weekend and I turned her loose in my stockpile room to gather up 5 bags of food for families in need that she is working with. It’s the best feeling to know you can help out others!
Oh I will be donating some of the laundry detergent, as we have so much stocked already. I was able to get it for $0.25 a piece!!
I shopped at Publix earlier in the week and had 90% savings, as well as 86% savings at Winn Dixie. My pics and totals can be found here http://www.apurposedrivenhome.com/90-savings-at-publix-3111/ and here http://www.apurposedrivenhome.com/savings-of-86-at-winn-dixie-3111/. I was going to email you the pics, but thought this may be easier. ?? And you deserve a week off!!! 🙂
Great job Carolyn! Thanks so much for sharing, and donating laundry detergent is fabulous (I’ve maybe only donated it once or twice because we’re always low on it around here!)
I shopped at Publix. I spent 64 cents. I think my total before coupons was approx $52. I will be donating 20 cans of green giant veggies and probably canned tomatoes. I don’t know if canned tomatoes are a good item to donate???
I think the tomatoes are great – especially because even if Asbury can’t use them the Downtown Rescue can 🙂
I shopped at Walgreens, Walmart, Petsmart, Office Depot, CVS, Safeway and Smiths. (ambitious…all with 3 kids ages 4 and under) Spent a total of $232.72. (ouch!) Saved 517.14 (about 70%.) Our costs were high this week for a few reasons. 1) I stocked up on a lot of things that I found on clearance/sale (tampoons, fruit snacks, propel water, pet food) 2) I printed a bunch of digital prints to send to the family back east. Everyone getting the same sets of pictures…that added up quickly. How can this cost be cut down? I invested in some office supplies that will help make my coupon life easier and faster (like a cutter!). And 3) my husband works in a fire house and they all take turns cooking..this coming shift is his turn so I had to buy groceries for an additional 4-6 people. OHH! And I am also starting to buy groceries for my Philly House Party next weekend! YAY! But this was deppressing! That is almost $50 a person in my house! Phwew. Next few weeks need to be cheap!
And I didn’t donate to food bank *yet. I have a pile to take but I did manage to take about 6 garbage bags of clothes, toys to the Salvation Army! Kids got in trouble and lost a LOT of toys. 🙂
I shopped at Publix this week…like always :). I do not have my reciept but if I remember correctly I spent around $24 and saved around $40. I know I should dontate to a food bank more but I have a cousin who recently bought her first house so I give her all the great deals I come across to help her out. Thanks for all you do!
I love that you’re helping your cousin out! I needed to include that (because when we’re helping someone, it doesn’t matter who it is – just that we’re helping out!) Thanks so much for sharing – you did great!!!
I shopped at Giant Eagle last night, spent $69.16, saved $104.14 I also went to Target and spent 49.34 and saved $43.42, which is the first time I have gone couponing at Target, I got diapers, dishwashing detergent, baby food, mascara, medicine, vitamins, granola, a garbage can, and a new wallet for my husband. Lots of clearance stuff there!!
You did great Jen!
