Five Minute Challenge: Tame The Laundry Monster

Congratulations to summergr… for winning last week’s $10 gift card! Thanks to everyone who left a comment to enter.

Guess what we’re going to accomplish this week fellow penny pinchers? We are going to fiercely attack the laundry monster in our home. . . who’s with me???

My goal is that by Friday, every stitch of laundry in our homes (yours and mine both. . . ) will be washed, folded, ironed, and put away. (We can do this, right?) To get started, last night I spent about forty minutes attacking my ironing, and it felt so good when I walked by the laundry room this morning. Here’s the before and after pics (so exciting, right?)

All done . . . woohoo!

I was thrilled to find a few tops of my own that I’d completely forgotten about, as well as dresses for my daughter that were completely hidden in that mess.  If you’re like me and the laundry in your home could use some tlc this week, let’s work together and see what we can get done.  I’m betting that if you just take five minutes to get started, you’ll be motivated to finish out the work all week long!

When you comment on any of this week’s five minute challenge posts, you’ll be entered to win a $10 Amazon Gift Card. (I’ll pick one lucky winner each Friday night.)  So, hurry and get to work on the laundry for at least five minutes, then come back here and let me know how it went!

Do you know an unique cleaning tips? I’d love to hear them! Leave a comment to share those too . . . I’m always looking for new ideas. See previous five minute challenges.

  1. I did 3 loads earlier today. As of this very minute, there are only our clothes we have worn today 🙂

  2. Amanda Isbell says:

I finally got my washing machine ‘back’ yesterday after something clogged up the bathroom sink and made it flood the pipes when I started laundry. Thank God the maintenance man was able to snake it and now my sink drains better than it EVER has. Apartment living, hate it but love the free repair work 🙂 I plan on finishing my bag tomorrow and then putting everything away for once.

  3. Stephanie says:

Umm, I guess I should go get my clothes out of the dryer and fold them. Luckily I don’t have any ironing to do (not because I did it, we just rarely have clothes that need to be ironed).

  4. I do all laundry every day. I don’t iron until we get ready to wear it. We live in a very small house so our clothes (I seem to have a whole lot less than hubby and daughter) are crowded. I would just have to iron them again.

  5. Just finished putting it all away! Done..until tomorrow;)

  6. All that remains is to hang them in the closet…

  7. I do laundry on the weekends, so mine is all done now except for yesterday’s clothes and this morning’s workout clothes. When the clothes are done in the dryer, I put them on my bed right away so that I have to put them away before the night is over!

  8. since I got spray starch for almost free at Publix I guess I should test it out – LOL! I am making myself grab a few items every time I go into the bedroom and put it away – hang, drawers, etc. feels great! and hang up the coats that everyone puts ont he back of the chairs instead of in the closet.

  9. I just got back from a recent trip. I’ve been doing laundry for days!

  10. Did 5 loads of laundry on Monday, my laundry day. They’re all clean and put away!

  11. I don’t mind putting the cloths in the wash, or the dryer/hanging them to air dry, or even folding them…what gets me is the part where you have to put them away–I hate actually putting the cloths away! I have tackled one of my baskets though, only 3 or 4 to go…
