Has anyone else noticed a few rainer days than normal this summer? We sure have! Yesterday my son and I were talking about what we could do for fun, and as after checking the weather we knew we'd be stuck inside. I remembered our good ole' Monopoly game, and he couldn't wait to play.
While it clearly was nothing fancy (at all) and will never be touted on Pinterest, my son and I had a blast. (One of my girls was at gymnastics, and my littlest helped on my team when she wasn't running around doing cartwheels.) I also realized that the boy needs some serious work on his counting skills (will kids in this generation ever learn to roll & count a dice?) And it was fun to watch him cackle as he mortgaged me to the hilt when I landed on his motel-laden Boardwalk and Park Place, one too many times. 😉
It was nothing fancy, but for him to have my complete attention was a pretty rare treat, and we even baked a quick frozen pizza to eat while finishing up the game. I was again reminded that my kids really don't need anything fancy, they just want a little more of my attention.
So, thanks Jackson for the game ~ and good job tromping your old mom. 😉

My kids just spent two days playing Monopoly with their visiting grandparents. They enjoyed it so much that after the grandparents left my kids played it with friends this afternoon!
I love that Melanie ~ we had so much fun with it too! 🙂
