15 Clever Ways to Upcycle Pill Bottles
Bridgett here! If you are like me and have empty pill bottles lying around – you've probably wondered what clever ways you could repurpose them. I asked that EXACT question in our Home Planner Group (because those ladies are so smart and creative) and I've rounded up some of the best ideas to share with you!
Here are 15 clever ways to upcycle empty pill bottles:
Safety tip: be sure to clean the bottles well, especially is a narcotic medication was in the bottle previously.
First WayÂ
Make a Quarter Keeper for your college kid who needs to do laundry in the coin laundry facility. Handy and practical gift to include in a laundry basket with a few other essentials! You also never want to show up at Aldi without your quarter.
Second Way
Keep your bobby pins and hair ties in them. Brilliant tip from my niece – flip your cap upside down. When you’re fixing your hair, you can pop it off with one hand when you hair is up in the other!
Third Way
Keep your tool bag organized by putting those nuts and bolts, drill bits, and zip ties in them.
Fourth Way
Perfect for storing batteries in your junk drawer.
Fifth Way
Donate to your local vet’s office or animal shelter. They can use them to send meds home with a fur baby who is being fostered.
Sixth Way
Great for keeping your nail files, clippers, and tweezers all in one place.
Seventh Way
PPP reader, Lorene T., came up with this genius way to keep her granddaughter from getting into her Sharpies.
Eighth Way
Keep your office tidy by storing your paper clips, push pins, and staples in them.
Ninth Way
No more missing game pieces on game night!
Tenth Way
PPP reader, Sandy M., stores her toothpicks in hers!
Eleventh Way
Many of our readers suggested donating to Operation Christmas Child so they can make fishing and sewing kits.
Twelfth Way
Throw your matches in your backpack and you are ready for a campfire on your camping trip.
Thirteenth Way
Craft organization is a must for me! These bottles are perfect for sorting beads.
Fourteenth Way
Hide your spare door key in your flower bed so no one knows where the spare is but you.
Fifteenth Way
Ditch the full size bottle of antacids, or any other other the counter meds, and throw this in your purse.

Dental floss picks fit perfectly into empty pill bottle. I also store qtips, cotton balls and bandaids and small amount laundry powder in pill bottles when I travel. Hard candy fits and easy to carry in case you are a diabetic. Small pack crayons fit in the tall bottles and won’t melt in the car ( we live in TX). The crayons also fit in a old soap plastic travel case or the small rectangle zip lock container. I melt old crayons down in an old muffin tin. The crayon disks (8) fit perfectly in parmesan cheese jars with lid for kids to color with or do etching with ( easy party or xmas gift).
