Are Coupons Still Worth It?

coupons

Way back in 2009 when I started Passionate Penny Pincher (Publix Penny Pincher back then), I spent hours saving big using coupons, and couldn’t wait to share my deals each day.

but then a few things changed.

TLC’s Extreme Couponing started.

Printable coupons became more popular.

And it wasn’t much later that coupon fraud was on the rise.

When first starting here I honestly had weeks where I fed our family of five for $40 using coupons. (It was so fun ~ goodness there’s just nothing like that coupon-crazed-shopping-adrenaline high!)

But then.

My kids got bigger.

I got busier.

And way too often I just don’t have time to coupon these days.

Honestly? I kind of miss that coupon-crazed-shopping-adrenaline high.

(I know. I need a life. jeesh.)

But I’m not yet convinced the deals aren’t there.

I’ve seen people say that couponing is dead.

That it’s just not worth it.

And honestly, so many of the places where you (PPP readers) seem interested in saving is online.

Which I totally, 100% get.

But. :)

Folks, let me tell you there are still deals to be had.

For. real.

Yesterday I went to CVS and picked up free deodorant.

And free shampoo.

And 49¢ toothpaste.

My little stockpile was screaming for more. :)

brawny

Then I grabbed 39¢ dish soap.

And super cheap toilet paper.

And hauled home a whole mess of bargain Brawny paper towels.

You know what?

I can still be a coupon rockstar. :)

And the deals really are still there.

Suc.cess.

So if you need to take control of your finances.

If you just can’t manage to stay in your grocery budget.

I just want to encourage you that with a little work and research you can save big too.

You’re welcome.

Here’s what my trip looked like yesterday:

You can download my printable guide with every thing you need to learn how to shop well at the drug stores over HERE right now for just 99¢ (regularly $3.99 – so this is a steal!), and I promise you can save big too.
