Do you have five minutes? (You know you do!) Stand up, walk away from the computer (I know it hurts!) grab a bottle of inexpensive window cleaner, and clean every screen in your home.

Wipe down those computers, laptops, televisions, iPhones, iPads, Androids and whatever else you own with a screen that needs a good cleaning.  When  you’re all done, come on back and check out the deals . . . I promise they’ll be right here waiting for you!

Do you have a nagging tiny chore at home that will take just a few minutes to complete? Today’s your day to DO. IT.

After walking by my kids Easter baskets for a sold two weeks (seriously, it’s May . . . remember Easter this year was in March?) I finally had had enough. (I know, you’re so impressed, right?) Since apparently they won’t magically hop to the right place (and since I’m clearly the only person in my family with eyes), I finally did it.

Up in the attic.

Done.

(I was seriously tempted to just take a picture of the tidy floor after moving them out of the picture and not really put them away. Hence the picture of my attic . . . proof I completely the task.)

What do you need to get done today? Take a few minutes and get it over with. I promise it feels so good when you’re done (whew!)

How are you doing tackling this week’s laundry? After ironing, folding socks, and at least four-hundred-and-seventy-eight loads of laundry this week, my laundry is caught. up.

Um, but my son will be home from basketball practice soon and I’m pretty sure it’ll all begin again . . . ugh.

Right this second though, I’m way ahead of the game, and it feels so good! If you’ve got some laundry that could use some attention right now, go ahead and get to work. Set your time for five or ten minutes, turn some good music on, and see just how much you can get done . . . I know you can do it!

How are you doing tackling this week’s laundry? From what I read in the comments on Day 1 and 2 of this week’s Laundry Challenge, you all are way more caught up on laundry than I am, so I’m more than a little motivated to get my act together.

Just in case you’re a little behind on your laundry like me though, here’s today’s challenge:

Set the timer for just five minutes, and hunt down every stitch of dirty clothes in your home. . . then head to the laundry room. (Make sure to have your kids help too!) Then get those clothes sorted and add a new load to your washer if you need to. And of course, fold any clothes that have been fluffed in the dryer one too many times in hopes that somehow they’ll fold themselves!

Guess what we’re going to accomplish this week fellow penny pinchers? We are going to fiercely attack the laundry monster in our home. . . who’s with me???

My goal is that by Friday, every stitch of laundry in our homes (yours and mine both. . . ) will be washed, folded, ironed, and put away. (We can do this, right?) To get started, last night I spent about forty minutes attacking my ironing, and it felt so good when I walked by the laundry room this morning. Here’s the before and after pics (so exciting, right?)

I was thrilled to find a few tops of my own that I’d completely forgotten about, as well as dresses for my daughter that were completely hidden in that mess.  If you’re like me and the laundry in your home could use some tlc this week, let’s work together and see what we can get done.  I’m betting that if you just take five minutes to get started, you’ll be motivated to finish out the work all week long!

Did you work on your five minute (ahem . . .forty five minute . . . ) challenge yesterday? Well besides cleaning out the clothes yesterday, I also tidied up my daughter’s (disastrous-and-very-tiny) room, and it’s amazing what a few minutes spent picking up can do. Here are the before and after pics.

Because her room is so small, it’s an absolute mess when her bed doesn’t get made (she’s learning how to make that bed, but at five she still hasn’t perfected it!)   There was definitely some other work to finish up there as well, but keeping those beds made is such an improvement.

Because my poor kids drawers are a disaster thanks to the crazy is-it-spring-or-is-it-winter weather we have right now in Alabama, I decided to forego the laundry room clean out and spend this week cleaning out a few drawers.

I just couldn’t take it any longer. (Eek!)

I spent a bit longer than five minute (ummmm . . . maybe 45 minutes instead?) but hopefully this will encourage you also to take a few minutes this week and tackle that oh-so-overwhelming job in your home. Here’s how it looked when I started (after dumping out the top two drawers.)

UGH!!! But I turned on my free Dave Ramsey App, grabbed a Diet Coke, and set to work. After just forty minutes, things were looking so much better . . .

And here’s what will be heading off to donate, consign, or to the trash can. (If you consign clothes, I highly recommend going ahead and putting them on hangers at the end of each season – it makes them so much more manageable to just tag them when the next sale comes up!)
