Spice Cabinet Organizing + Last Day To Get Your Lists

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

Soooo, this is what my spice cabinet looked like this morning at 9:08 AM. 😉

And here’s what it looks like after a little Facebook Living with a few of you. 🙂

Success!

As I shared this morning on Facebook Live, this is the last day to download your Motivated Moms 2017 Chore Sheets for $6.75 with the code PPP at checkout.

That’s 52 lists ~ 12¢ per list ~ to totally take back control of your home this year.

After following these more faithfully this last month as we’ve worked on our Be Awesome in April Challenge, I’m simply amazed at how just a few moments each day of maintaining your home can totally transform your space.

But the best part?

This morning I handed the list to my 10 year old.

With a $1 bill attached.

If she tackled most of the things (within reason) on the list, she got $1.

Then we did the math.

(Note how she edited the lists by crossing a few things out at the bottom ~ we actually ended up with enough time before school to do some of the daily bible reading together, and she didn’t spend a single minute on any TV watching or iPad playing. I LOVE THAT!)

If she did this every single day for the next 7 years for me . . .

She’d have $2555. 🙂

She told me that sounded like a plan, and decided to start saving for her car with all that moo-lah.

Clearly she’s the baby sister of two big kids who have worked to save for a car ~ we’ve promised to double whatever they save, so she’s on a mission early. 🙂

So this morning, she started the dishwasher, swept the floors, made her bed, took out the trash, cleaned out 2 sinks, changed the dish towels, fed our dog, and laid out her clothes for tomorrow.

Not too shabby. 😉

Just thought I’d share a little encouragement for you mommas of little kids that these kids one day really can grow up to be responsible, and if your kids are a little older this might encourage them to get to work too.

But it makes things a lot easier when you start with a great list. 😉

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 19

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

I’m so excited that we’ve enjoyed this month being “Awesome in April!”

I can’t begin tell you how much I’ve benefited from encouraging you to clean each day, so maybe this challenge was just for me. 🙂

Honestly, by going through and checking off our Spring Cleaning List each day with you, my home just feels so much more in control.

I love that.

Because my friend Margaret Ann is going to be with us tomorrow making Peach Cobbler (YUM!), I knew I wouldn’t manage matching socks then on Facebook Live, so I thought I’d tackle it (at least a little?) today.

After all your comments though about making my kids match socks though, I decided to save that chore for them tonight. 🙂

Success?

I think so.

I’d love to hear how you’re doing on your Spring Cleaning Challenge each day, and if you’re getting your lists checked off too! It’s amazing to me how much better I feel when I keep up with this stuff, and hope it encourages you too.

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 18

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

I’m so excited that we’ve enjoyed this month being “Awesome in April!”

I can’t begin tell you how much I’ve benefited from encouraging you to clean each day, so maybe this challenge was just for me. 🙂

Honestly, by going through and checking off our Spring Cleaning List each day with you, my home just feels so much more in control.

I love that.

Today on Facebook Live I tackled organizing the cabinet in our bathroom (and a little laundry too.)

I didn’t get rid of everything, but did send two bags of trash to the garbage bin.

And, thanks to one smart readers suggestion, I’m going to use a bunch of these cleaning samples to do a little “spa night” with my girls this weekend.

(When you see me looking 20 years younger on Facebook Live you’ll know why. Oh, and we’ll use those Smashburger coupons that have been sitting on my bathroom counter for 3 weeks that night too.) 😉

I also wanted to share this silly thing I’ve kept under my sink for 21 years in between 8 moves.

Yikes.

As I’ve shared before, I have always struggled with my weight, but in college dropped 75 pounds ~ these are those “pre-75-pound-weight-loss-pics” circa 1995.

You know what’s even worse?

These are the “glamour shots” of those days for me ~ most days I looked even worse but threw those pictures out completely.

So why on earth have I kept them all these years so close at hand?

Honestly, because they remind me of who I once was, and why eating well and exercising is so worth it to me.

I know lots of folks will ask how I did it ~ you can read more HERE ~ it’s definitely been life changing for me and I’m so glad to be on this side of that weight loss story!

But why on earth am I sharing this with you?

Ummmmm . . . I have no idea. 😉

I guess because I’m a blogger.

Who every so often wants to tell a story.

And my story is that you really do have control over your choices (IT IS NOT EASY – AT ALL – I STILL FIGHT IT EVERY SINGLE DAY), but I know that if I can win at this one you can win at this one too.

In case you’re interested, read more over here, but in a very quick snipped I lost the initial weight through low fat dieting which was popular when I was in college, kept most of it off (not all, but most) through having 3 kids, and have worked this last year to get down to my lowest weight because I just want to stop fighting my weight.

I LOVED the 21 Day Fix and HIGHLY recommend it, but the last month I’ve been following a mostly ketogenic diet (google it – I’m not doing tons of bacon just no carbs and sugar), and at least for today feel more in control of my weight than I ever have been. (If I manage to continue this til next January I’ll tell you all about how it works. But I have to prove I can stick with it to myself before I can share all that!)

WHEWWW!!!

How’s that for way too much information when all you have to do today is clean out your bathroom sinks? 🙂

Oh, and in today’s Facebook Live video I shared how I’ve learned to love doing laundry too. 😉

Clearly, it’s been a busy day. Hope you’ve had a wonderfully busy and productive day in your home too!

And guess what?!

I found it for you. 🙂

Several years ago I ordered the Motivated Moms Cleaning Schedule and I completely fell in love.

I’m not going to lie, it included a LOT on her daily list, but when I really decided to DO the list, our home just became a more peaceful place to live in.

And years after doing that list consistently, it’s still the concept I keep in mind when working on my home each day.

The best part?

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 13

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

It’s Day 12 of our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge and I hope you’re joining me!  If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE to download your free printable checklist.

I’m super excited that I’ve tackled wiping down the doors and using Pam Spray to get rid of squeaky doors already ~ goodness, why don’t I do that sooner?

(I seriously love the Pam trick. Because, I can never seem to find the WD-40 in my hubby’s work bench. But I can always find cooking spray.) 🙂

But I’m even a wee bit more excited about this whole Declutter App thing, because if you’re like me and need to Declutter a bit, you’re going to love this.

If you need to Declutter a few things, you can try it out too:

1 .  Gather together a pile of unwanted electronics, cds, books, dvds, games or game systems to see what they’ll be worth.

2 .  Head over to HERE and enter the barcode of an item to see what you’ll be paid.

WAY easier though (and all kinds of fun!) is if you download their app and go around your house scanning barcodes to get the price.  (Here’s a screenshot from my phone of items I was checking in the app.)

3 .  Click “Accept Price” and add to basket if you agree and want to sell it.

4 .  Come up with a minimum $10 worth of items you’d like to sell.  Pack them into a box (any box) and attach your free shipping label.  (This will be sent to your email inbox for you to print out)

5 .  Mail off your box!   You’ll get paid the day after they receive your box – via Paypal, Check or Direct Deposit.

THE BEST PART?

Right now when you use the code PPP10 at checkout Declutter will pay you an extra 10% on your total check for trying them out.

So, if you have $20 worth of stuff to send them, they’ll send you $22.

WOHOOO!

Head on over HERE to try it out, and let me know what you think!

And don’t forget to join me for our 20 Day Be Awesome in April Spring Cleaning Challenge.

I’m super excited to have the windows by my front door done today ~ and still planning on sweeping up my front porch this afternoon.

(Can you tell I’m putting that one off a bit today?)

But mostly, I’m excited that thanks to the new Swiffer coupons I’m totally stocked up, which made sweeping my floors this morning a breeze.

(I love that. )

So, we’re keeping things short and simple today, but I’m loving having these projects tackled at home!

It’s Day 11 of our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge and I hope you’re joining me!  If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE to download your free printable checklist.

After a crazy weekend with a houseful of company, it felt great to get my home back in order this morning!

We had 15 people in our house all weekend (17 for Easter dinner!), and while I loved every single minute of having family here, it was nice to gain a little control this morning. 🙂

I exercised, had my quiet time (this is the one I read), made our bed, scrubbed the bathroom sinks, started another load of laundry, ran the dishwasher, shined our kitchen sink and cleared the countertops.

I have not yet swept down the entryway (it’s today’s big daily challenge), but it’s on my to-do list for the evening when hopefully it warms up a bit more.

I can’t even begin to tell you how thankful that we started this challenge, because it made everything this weekend go so much more smoothly. Just having my simple list checked off each day really does transform our home, and I so love having that taken care of each day!

(Don’t miss the Mrs. Meyer’s deal going on over HERE.)

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 8

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to work on our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge each day this month.  If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE to download your free printable checklist.

It’s day 8 of our Be Awesome in April Spring Cleaning Series, and I’m so excited to have so much tackled this week! We have family coming in town for Easter weekend tomorrow night, so I’m thrilled to be at least a wee bit ahead of the game.

In today’s video (where things weren’t quite working ~ ugh!) I shared our daily challenge of cleaning the entertainment center (in additional to the regular daily to-do list.) This is one day I’m thankful we don’t have a big ole’ entertainment center to dust. 😉

For the most part I’ve kept up with the rest of the list (download yours HERE), and I’m loving having my house kept up each day. My husband even brought home tulips for me last night (I love tulips!), and having them set out on my clean countertops just brightens my day. 🙂

The big challenge this week?

Eek.

Was tackling my disaster of a closet. But, I spent 2 hours Saturday night just getting it done (it’s not perfect, but it sure is better!)

and even this cute kid was impressed. 😉

I still need to organize those scarves a bit in the baskets on top of my shelves (ahem . . . . ) but I’m still counting it as a win this week.

If you’re like me and hoping to get on track with your cleaning and to-do list this Spring, I’d love for you to join me (misery loves company you know!)

Let me know when you get those fans done, and go ahead and tackle the rest of the chores on your daily list. I promise, it’ll feel so good!

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to work on our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge each day this month.  If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE to download your free printable checklist.

It’s day 7 of our Be Awesome in April Spring Cleaning Series, and after last week’s HUGE list of to-dos, this week is feeling like a breeze!

This morning I cleared my kitchen countertops, started my dishwasher, scrubbed my kitchen sink, started a load of laundry, made our bed and wiped down our bathroom sinks . . .

and even got dinner done in 1 minute flat.

(I used my friend Tiffany’s Menu Plans from Eat at Home cooks ~ included in her slow cooker menus she does a week of freezer cooking each month, and during our February Countertop Cooking Challenge I made these Hawaiian Meatballs that I found hiding in my freezer this morning! If you’re looking for awesome menu plans, check these out.)

My big chore for the day that I still need to go do is dust our fan blades (I use a pillowcase ~ it works great!) but hopefully that will take just a few minutes to complete.

(I’m loving the easier list this week after cleaning out the fridge and freezer last week – eek!)

If you’re like me and hoping to get on track with your cleaning and to-do list this Spring, I’d love for you to join me!

Let me know when you get those fans done, and go ahead and tackle the rest of the chores on your daily list. I promise, it’ll feel so good!

Today’s Be Awesome in April Spring Cleaning Challenge is pretty easy . . . .

thank.

heavens.

After last week I am thrilled with how much more pulled together I’m feeling, but goodness, I’m worn out!

So, when I saw the “extra” task today was just cleaning our light fixtures, I knew I could handle this one.

(Now, I probably need to do all the fixtures in the house, but to keep myself on track I just tackled the light fixtures in our dining room and breakfast room. WHEW!)

If you’re like me an need an easier one this week, I promise you can finish this one up in under 30 minutes, and you’ll be so glad you did.

Let me know when you get this one done, and go ahead and tackle the rest of the chores on your daily list. I promise, it’ll feel so good!

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 5

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to work on our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge today.  (If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE to download your free printable checklist.)

I am sooo happy.

Sooooo very happy!

Because my pantry.

And my microwave.

And my fridge.

And my freezer.

And now even under my kitchen sink.

They’re all clean.

Every. Single. One.

Isn’t it lovely?

I have a really (really!) bad habit of stuffing things under the sink (trash bags anyone?) when I’m in a hurry, and I realized today just how bad it was and knew I could do better.

A lot of what was under our sink didn’t belong there at all, and I totally fluffed things up.

I even tried out the cool curtain rod trick for hanging a few cleaners that everyone’s seen on Pinterest, and it worked.

And that little basket on the top left of the cabinet?

All it was was two Command Hooks and a wire basket from Walmart.

Success.

If you’re like me and some times feel like your home is getting the best of you, I promise cleaning out under your kitchen sink is a pretty simple chore, and it’s going to brighten your day a wee bit. 🙂

So go ahead.

Walk away from your computer

(I promise, the deals will be right here when you come back)

and get this one marked off your list.

I’d sure love for you to join me this month as we’re getting our homes + bodies + minds in order, so be sure to also take a second to snag your free Be Awesome in April printable over HERE.

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 4

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to work on our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge today.  (If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE.)

I did not want to deal with this project today.

Like.

did. NOT.

I rolled up my sleeves though anyways, pulled on my big girl panties even though I soooo didn’t want to, and just got to work.

B.l.e.c.k.

I scrubbed.

de-gunked.

And got it all back together.

The best part?

I found more dinner. 🙂

In fact, tonight we’re having leftover buffet, with all of our freezer leftovers.

(My family’s going to revolt, but they’ll survive one night, right? I did mix up a batch of brownies to soften the blow.)

I even planned a few more meals for the week with what else we had left in the freezer for the rest of the week.

The truth?

There are days when we just don’t want to.

When de-cluttering and de-gunking just sounds like no fun at all.

But I promise.

I. promise.

When you go ahead and get it done, your day will look so much brighter.

And you can check one more thing off that list.

Thank. heavens. 😉

I’d sure love for you to join me this month as we’re getting our homes + bodies + minds in order, so be sure to also take a second to snag your free Be Awesome in April printable over HERE.

Be Awesome In April Spring Cleaning Challenge – Day 1

If you missed my Facebook live video this morning you can watch here.

Happy Monday!

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to start our “Be Awesome in April” Cleaning Challenge today.

(If you’d like to join me, head on over HERE.)

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! 🙂

(Weird. I know. But it just makes me happy….)

This weekend I tackled my pantry.

Um. yup.

Eek.

It took about 2 hours.

4 bags.

And 1 pitiful puppy (who sat there hoping a wee bit of food would fall.)

But it’s done.

I was able to use some storage baskets that were empty and put a bunch of Christmas items I had leftover from Hobby Lobby sales this year to stack away next year,

as well as another bin to keep all of our medical stuff in.

(We don’t have room for a medicine cabinet on our main floor, so our pantry is where everything goes!)

2 hours later it was done.

Still not perfect, but better.

And in the midst of all that mess?

I found dinner.

SUCCESS. 🙂

I’d sure love for you to join me, and you might just find dinner in your pantry too. 🙂

If you’d like to join me this month, download the PPP BE AWESOME IN APRIL PRINTABLE CHECKLIST over HERE, ~ I promise it will help motivate you (I’m already loving it!)
