You guys know I was more than a little excited about the fun deals I scored yesterday at Michael’s.

Seriously. So much fun!

While I was there, I peeked around since I’d been dreaming of the right centerpiece to put on our new kitchen table I did a quick search on Houzz (I love Pinterest, but goodness there are just some beautiful home ideas on Houzz!), and found a few simple arrangements that I figured I could easily copy.

So I bought these.

And did this.

And it cost a whopping $12, thanks to my coupon.

Success!

Now if I can just hunt down a deal on the right light fixture (something not so silver-ey?) we’ll be good to go. (I’m kind of in love with this one right now . . .)

If you’re looking for an easy way to bring some Spring into your home, this is for you. I’d love to hear what other ideas you have too!
I’d love for you to join me over on Pinterest (I love that place!)  If you have a blog and have done a little fluffing in your home, I’d love to see it, so leave your link in the comments section. Also, if there’s a craft you’ve seen on a website that you’re hoping to make, feel free to share that link as well (I’m always looking for new ideas!)

  1. Laurie, the light fixture is really nice (& functional, I am guessing). Why don’t you just spray paint it bronze or pewter or whatever color you like? And, if it really strikes you, you can change out the bulb covers with new ones from Lowes or HD. Amazing what little paint can do.

  2. Janell in Georgia says:

    Spray paint it

  3. You may also be able to find a metal rub-on finish that will “antique” your chandelier to tone down the silver finish. It can be found at a craft store. Worst case scenario? You don’t like it and you buy your expensive chandelier.

    • Great minds think alike! As soon as I posted this yesterday I thought the exact same thing – and changing fixtures in my kitchen (well, just the shades), made a huge difference so I thought I might try that out too.

you can see that here – I love the new ones! http://passionatepennypincher.com/2015/02/35-kitchen-update/

It’s so funny that you all said the same thing when I was already thinking it! Thanks so much for the advice (I’ll update you all on how it goes!) 🙂
