I’m just a wee bit excited about what came in my mail today! You probably know I typically buy toilet paper and paper towels from Amazon, but this is the first time I’ve actually bought food and personal care items from Amazon (other than foundation – I’ve bought that there for years.) I just can’t believe my ever-so-awesome-mail-carrier-person delivered it right to my door step. Here’s a peek . . .

For $39.96 I got all of these items, and I’ve been sitting here debating if it was a good deal or not. Going through the numbers I spent $39 for:

  • 60 Diet Pepsi cans (I drink one every day – don’t judge – it’s the only caffeine I get throughout the day and at this point I’m not giving it up) 😉
  • 16 Rice Krispie Treats (my kids opened them as soon as they got here yesterday of course!)
  • 16 Nutri Grain Bars
  • 24 Keebler Cookies (I’m counting those as 12 items though since 2 are a serving?)
  • + a bunch of personal care items
  • Total = 104 items for $39 or 38¢ per item PLUS Oil of Olay Cleansing Wipes, Toner, Tampax, and a cute Super Bowl Cup.

All delivered to my door.

I didn’t step foot in the grocery.

(It’s 22 degrees in Ohio today.)

Worth it I think?

Honestly I don’t think this was the most penny pinched deal on the planet, but the convenience was nice, and the prices are better than what I’d find at Costco, Sam’s or Walmart, plus they brought it right to me. All in all I’m pretty pleased with my little haul, and love that Amazon made it so easy to save.

I’d love to hear your thoughts . . . have you tried out Prime Pantry and what do you think? It was definitely a fun treat not to have to head to the store for these items, but not something I’ll likely do all the time. (The extra coupon savings they offered right now though really convinced me!)  And by the way, this offer is still available if you’re interested . . . check it out over HERE.

Is 38 cents a COOKIE a good deal???????

    • Hi Ruth! it ends up 38¢ for two cookies (which still is high I know!) BUT, that basically is considering the Olay Toner, Olay Wipes, and Tampax all free since I didn’t do the math on the entire order (had no idea how those would stack up), and ended up at less than it would have cost me when I did the math to buy it at Walmart, even after coupons. It was worth it to me!

It seems like a great deal to me. I love Amazon Prime and have purchased countless items, including Pantry items. When you add in convenience, it is well worth it to our household. Not to mention there are some items that my son loves that I would have to make a 30 – 40 minute drive to get since our neighborhood stores don’t them. The Amazon price is less per item than the long drive store as well.

  3. was the shipping free??

  4. Even if you don’t catch a special, Amazon prime is only $99 a year which breaks down to $8.25 a month. Periodically they offer the prime to new members at $79 for the first year. Either way it is a really great deal especially for you people that have to deal with snow and cold weather. I just hope you really remember your mail carriers at Christmas. Also if you have to return something it doesn’t cost you anything. They will send you a return shipping label that you can print on your computer and you can arrange for the post office to pick it up as well.

  5. Where do you find the coupons in Prime Pantry? I see that as part of the deals listed but I’m confused.
