{Almost Homemade} Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

Looking for more penny pinched recipes? Here you go!

I made one Pinterest flop recipe this week (love me some Pinterest, but hate when those recipes flop. . .), so I’ve only got one new recipe to share this week.  This one is such a good one though that you might as well just run on out and grab the ingredients now ~ I promise your family will thank me. ;)

Because the ingredient list was so simple I really didn’t expect to be all that impressed with this one, but goodness was I ever! My husband gobbled his down (even ate the leftovers up tonight), and it was all I could do to not eat up every last bite and hang onto those leftovers. If you’re in a hurry but want to enjoy dinner at home this week, this meal’s for you!

{Almost Homemade} Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

Ingredients

  • cooked steak strips (I used 16 oz. Tyson Grilled & Ready Beef Strips)
  • hoagie rolls, sliced lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • provolone cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Melt butter on stovetop.
  2. Add in onion, saute for 8-10 minutes, until translucent.
  3. Add in beef strips, cook an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
  4. Place provolone on top of beef and onions in skillet, just long enough to begin to melt.
  5. Transfer beef and cheese mixture onto hoagie rolls, wrap tightly in foil.
  6. Bake 10-15 minutes in 350 degree oven, until warmed through.
  7. Unwrap & enjoy!
