Grocery Budget Check Up (October Challenge ~ Part 4)

Grocery Budget Goals

How have you done on sticking to your grocery budget this month?  After tweaking our regular budget a bit last week, I’m super excited that we are actually $50 ahead on our budget for the last two weeks, which included a ton of eating out over the weekend while attending my daughter’s soccer tournament . . .woohoo!  We do have to make it through Thursday on that $50, but I’m thinking that should be easy. :)

I haven’t had to grocery shop this week because we’re fairly stocked up (and I really haven’t had time to. . .) but I may run by Publix tonight before their sale ends.  I’ve also packed almost all of our lunches (and told my hubby to swing by Domino’s today. . . ), and we ate at home Friday night before heading on our road trip to pinch a few extra pennies.  You know what? Planning your budget works ~ even this penny pincher can learn a thing or two!

How have you done this month?  I’d absolutely love to hear how your budget has looked, and promise that even if you didn’t stay on track this month, it’s not too late, and saving money on your grocery budget can really help during the upcoming Holiday months.  Leave a comment to share your goals and accomplishments . . . I’m rooting for you and know you can do this! :)

In the past month my husband and I have went from just saying “we really need to tighten the budget” to actually sitting down, tv and phones off, and talked about money.
We decided that when a paycheck comes in, before anything is spent, we are going to sit down and look at the next two weeks. (Looking at it as a month left too much room for errors).
I’ve discovered that it’s easier to stay on budget if I shop over the course of the week. Most important stuff one day, stockpile items another and any extras later. This beats going from one store to another and then going home and looking at the receipts.
