I had to share a peek with you of where I’ve been today! I’m attending the Allume Conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and while I’m super excited to learn how to do my job more effectively while I’m here, the biggest reason that I hauled myself away from my sweet family and way up to PA was to visit my ninety-nine year old aunt who I haven’t seen in several years. Doesn’t she look amazing?
{I kept her photo collage in the picture because she just loved sharing with me who each of the folks were in the pictures. All of them were family, and it was amazing how well she knew each person there and exactly how they fit in ~ some of them have been gone longer than I’ve been alive!}
This is Aunt Lois with her lifelong friend Doris who was with her today while we visited. Aunt Lois will actually turn 99 on November 2nd, and Doris turned 98 in June. They’ve been friends since they were five years old, and now are in the same nursing home in together in Weartherly, Pennsylviania ~ amazing. When they were “young” (ummm. . . in their 70′s), they drove all over the country together on trips. I can even remember Aunt Lois hopping in her car up in Pennsylvania when I was ten (that would make her about 73), and driving all by herself to visit us in Florida. Back before cell phones and even a Garmin, Aunt Lois just headed on down the interstate with a map for a visit.
I flew out of Madison this morning at 5:30 AM, stopped in Atlanta (where I begged for your prayers on Facebook ~ thank you!!!), then met my mom at the airport in Harrrisburg and we drove two hours up to Weatherly to see Aunt Lois. We raced back to get here in time for the conference, checked into the hotel, found out I was in a smoking room, had to go to another room, then raced downstairs for dinner and to hear a few fantastic speakers. So, I’m finally catching up here. . . whew! Hope you’ve had a wonderfully fun day too.

Those pictures are adorable! It’s great that you have such strong ties to your family. They seem like a great bunch of women who enjoy life and seek adventure. That’s awesome! So glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself too!
Thanks so much Bree ~ they’re pretty incredible!
