What’s For Dinner? Super Simple Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs

  • Sharebar

I think I’ve finally figured out ribs in the slow cooker (WOOHOO!)  After reading through a few suggestions on how to cook ribs in the crockpot, I made these today and they were perfect.  And EASY.  What more could a girl ask for?

Here’s the trick:  do NOT just put the ribs in the slow cooker.  (I know, I know . . . that takes a little of the fun out of slow cooking, but I promise spending a few minutes to prepare those ribs in the morning will reward you with some fall-apart-heavenly ribs!)  Allow just thirty minutes in the morning to pre-bake them in the oven, and then let your slow cooker to the rest of the cooking for you.  These were so good that my husband declared them better than Logan’s Roadhouse, and liked them as much as our favorite rib recipe for the grill.

Yup, I was a rockstar at our house tonight. Here’s the recipe if you want to be a rockstar too. . .  ;)

  1. I just wanted to Thank you for all you do and to tell you that I made 2 of your slow cooker recipes last week the baked spaghetti and the steak sandwiches and my family and friends loved them! Thanks again for all you do!

  2. Laurie
What brand slow cooker do you use? I had a slow cooker for years that I loved, but it died on me. I’ve already bought two but all they’ve done is over cook my food even on the low setting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been wanting to try several of your recipes but hate to waste money and time. Thanks alot

    • Hi Kim! I do have a really hard time cooking things low enough with any new slow cooker. Mine is a Rival brand Crockpot and does okay, but I feel like almost everything I make needs to be cooked on low, and I try to stay home when cooking many items (like these ribs), because they can so easily over cook. I tend not to worry about beef recipes as much (things like Italian Beef, or even ham that’s in a good bit of sauce each day), but things like chicken or pork do seem to cook so quickly in any of the newer crockpots!

Not sure that that helps much, but if I were you I’d look on Amazon and really read the reviews before purchasing. Good luck (and let me know if you find one!)

      • Laurie I’m so sorry that I didn’t write back to tell you Thank You for the info. I’ve been so busy. Still looking for that cooker. LOL I just can’t decide. Some will have good reviews and then on other sites, they will say the same cooker is junk. Ughh.
Eeeny, Meany, Miney, Mo is starting to look good for an option. LOL
        Thanks again.

  3. This is our new favorite – thank you!!

  4. I was a “Rock Star” tonight! Everyone LOVED these ribs!
