Here are a few things to remember before you shop:

Kmart will double up to $1 manufacturer’s coupons all week long.
Limit 5 coupons per day.
You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons.
Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item.
You must scan your shop your way rewards card to get your coupons doubled.
You must have a minimum of $25 in groceries and pharmacy items before coupons are scanned in order for them to be doubled.
Kmart won’t give you overage.
Final prices reflect coupons doubled.

Help. I am fairly new at this and I tried to go to K-mart to take advantage of some of these deals above yesterday and they didn’t work out. K-mart said that they only double coupons to total up to $1. Is this wrong because if they will double $1. coupons up to $2. then that would explain the math above?
Here are some samples of what I paid:
Kelloggs cerial 4/$10 minus $1/2 times (2 coupons) = 4/$8 = $2. each instead of $1.50 each
or
Nabisco Chips Ahoy 2/$4. minus $1/2 coupon = 2/$3 = $1.50 each instead of $1. each
My purchase did total $26.50 so I could double coupons but when I asked the clerk about doubling them up to $2. for $1. coupons she said “no”. Is this right? If they did the coupons wrong then I am going to take my receipt back & and ask them to correct it. If each $1. coupon is only worth up to $1. then I don’t understand the math in the deals above.
Thanks for any help/advice you have to offer this new couponing crazy mom.

  Yes, $1.00 coupons should double to $2.00. The register should automatically double 5 coupons up to $1.00 as long as cashier scans your shop your way rewards card and you have $25.00 purchase before coupons.

    Thank you so much for your reply. I taking my receipt back in to k-mart & looking for someone at the service desk that knows what they are talking about. The person there the other day told me they only double up to $1.00 & the coupon policy is vague & hard to understand if they double up to $2.00 or not. Thanks!!! and yes, I only used 5 coupons so they all should have doubled.
