Ready for today’s Spring Cleaning Challenge?  Let’s clean some windows!  I set my kitchen timer for 20 minutes last night, and managed to get all the windows in the back and front of my house clean. (I didn’t finish the insides, because the outsides are what get just horribly dusty at our house!) If you’re looking for an inexpensive cleaner, here’s what I use:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp. Dawn dish soap (I’ve used other kinds, but Dawn seems to work the best!)
Mix together in large bucket, and wash windows down with rag.  Then rinse clean with a dry rag, and you’ll have streak-free windows!

Do you have any clever tips for cleaning the windows?  I’d love to hear them!  And when you’re done leave a comment for an entry to win this month’s Spring Cleaning Challenge $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway.

  1. I recently saw a post on pinterest that was a recommendation from the professional window washers and they said Dawn with water. Then they recommended using a scrubby sponge (the ones with just a bit of grit to them) soap them up real good and then squeegee and wipe with a cloth between each swipe. Mine came out great and FINALLY took the gray film off my windows on the inside from the construction and sitting empty for way too long.

I started cleaning windows last week. I was able to finish cleaning the outsides of the windows on Saturday. House is looking great! Thanks for the motivation.
