- 1 tsp. baking powder $0.30/1 Argo Corn Starch or Baking Powder 12/5/2010 SS
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda $0.50/2 Arm & Hammer Baking Soda or Air Filter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 cup butter or shortening I used shortening . . . $0.50/1 Land O’ Lakes Butter 4/3/2011 SS
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional, not included in our kitchen!
- 2 cups brown sugar $0.50/1 Dixie Crystals, Poly Light or Dark Brown
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tbsp. vanilla I accidentally forgot the vanilla but they were fine without it!
- 1 1/3 cups chocolate chunks or chocolate chips $1/2 Nestle Toll House Morsels
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Sift flour (I aways just use a whisk and fluff it up – it works great!)
- Add baking powder, baking soda & salt, then sift again. Add nuts (optional).
- In seperate bowl, melt butter. (If you use shortening, add two tablespoons hot water after you’ve melted the shortening.) Add 2 cups brown sugar, allow to cool slightly.
- Add beaten eggs and vanilla, blend well. Slowly add the flour mixture, until completely mixed in.
- Stir in chocolate chips, and spread into 9×13 pan.
- Bake for 24-28 minutes, then cool on wire rack before cutting into squares.

Those look terrible!
Excuse me while I go make some right now….
A huge thank you for posting recipes…they are a major help! I’ve made the buffalo ranch chicken sliders twice now! Yummy and easy!
My kids were hollering in the background when I read that Amy – I thought – oh no, she doesn’t like it! Yup, pretty yummy, glad you love the sliders! (If you like them you would LOVE the Italian Beef if you haven’t made it before!)
