(Here’s what it looked like this morning when I threw it all together – I’ll update the picture tonight once it’s cooked!) I just shredded the chicken and it’s soooooooo good . . I’m full and it isn’t even dinner time yet!
Are you running around in this crazy busy spring season like we are? I feel like we run from one activity to the next and often don’t know what’s coming next! Well, if you’re feeling the same, this recipe is for you. It took me a whopping six minutes to throw in the crock pot (and clean up!) There’s no way you could get through the drive-thru that fast, so why not fix dinner at home tonight?
I found this recipe over on $5 Dinners, and it’s in my crockpot right now getting ready for dinner tonight. Here’s all you’ll need . . .
3 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
Perdue On Sale $2.99/lb. if you don’t have any in your freezer, use $1/1 Perdue HERE if included in sale
3/4 cup ketchup
Hunt’s BOGO $2.29, use $1/2 from April All You
1/2 cup brown sugar
$.50/1 Domino Sugar 1 lb. or larger from 3/14 RP or $.40/1 from 5/2 RP
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon vinegar
$.50/1 Heinz Vinegar HERE
Place chicken in crockpot (can even be frozen). Mix remaining ingredients, pour over chicken. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 3-4 hours. Shred chicken completely and return to crock pot to heat through.
